A Detailed Customer Review of Telna

I have been a happy customer of Telna Long Distance Phone Service for 2 years now and put together this web page to explain why Telna is simply the best quality and lowest cost provider of long distance telephone service out there. I'm a penny pincher and came to discover Telna through a lot of reasearch and trial and error with other providers. I want to share my research and good experience with others. If you're looking for a great long distance provider, read on and consider singing-up for free.

Is Telna the Cheapest Long Distance Phone Service Provider?

In short, yes. Telna is the cheapest long distance provider. The key to their low cost structure is in two parts:

  1. ultra-low per minute rates
  2. 1-second billing increments
Although you might find other providers with slightly lower per-minute rates, they will bill you in 60-second increments. This can make a big difference. Let me show you an example.
Suppose I make a telephone call out of state or abroad and the call length is 1:08 (1 minute and 8 seconds). With Telna, they would charge me for exactly 1 minute and 8 seconds. All the other providers would charge me for the full two minutes. This table illustrates the different real costs:

As you can see, even though provider B has a 37% cheaper per-minute rate, the call cost is about 10% higher than Telna. And these differences do add up.
Of course, there are no minimums, no fees, and the best since telna offers such low rates, you will pay less taxes since the taxes are applied to lower amounts!

How is the Call Quality?

I've been using Telna for 2 years straight and call and never had a single problem with making myself understood or hearing people on the other line.

My household calls to every part of the globe: to an aunt in Switzerland, a business partner in Tennesse, a friend in France, a girlfriend in the Philippines, a store in Nevada... and we've never had any trouble reaching any of them. From long 108 minute calls to short 2 second calls (which cost us a fraction of a penny) all our calls have been clear.

This, sadly, is not the case with other providers we've used before Telna. Calling with Pioneer Telecom was a pain to say the least, and when it connected the call quality was dreadful. AT&T's was slightly better, but it costs about 4x , 5x in some countries 10 times more than Telna. And another provider we used a couple years ago even went out of business because customers like us were leaving due to poor service.
